Calla Lily
Zantedeschia sp.
Description - Trumpet-shaped flowers borne on slender stalks with narrow, arrow-shaped, light green leaves generally describes the Calla Lily. The varieties we grew this season are all different shades of pink to purple encompassing a many hued violet spectrum. Beautiful, traditional spring and Easter blooms which make a wonderful well appreciated gift, especially when presented in a decorative pot. Our Calla's are compact, and vividly colored, ready for spring enjoyment indoors or out.
Cultural Information: Water - Moderately. Water thoroughly, providing good drainage. Allow the soil surface to become dry to the touch before re-watering.
Light - Full sun to partial shade.
Temperatures - Cool 55 - 75 degrees. Extremes 45 - 80 degrees.
Handling the Dormant Tubers - Late Spring and Summer heat begin the Calla Lily's deterioration and they soon die back. Stop watering while this occurs and allow the plant to completely dry and wilt. You may leave the tubers in the dry medium or remove from soil, keeping them in a cool dry place until late fall, when temperatures start to cool. Water thoroughly with tepid to slightly warm water in well draining soil, keeping temperature near 70-75 degrees, but cooler after the leaves have emerged. The resulting plant may not have the same vigor as the original, but will be well worth the effort.

Crown of Thorns
Euphorbia Lomi Hybrid Somona(R) A dense shrub, growing to heights of 3 feet, this relative of the Poinsettia has green/brown stems armed with sharp spines spaced at frequent intervals. Cyclamen
Cyclamen persicum These tuberous-rooted perennials are grown for their unusual, attractive flowers above intersting green or variegated leaves. Many different F-1 mini hybrid varieties are used in our 4" program. These are more heat tolerant and more uniform in leaf size and shape than other varieties and are florist quality. The individual blooms last about 2-3 weeks and they will continuously send up new flowers.

Fuschia
Fuchsia hybrida Fuchsias occur in a wide range of colors, shapes and sizes. These early summer to first frost flowering plants are upright or hanging, depending on the variety. They contain an abundant number of blooms on each stem which hang downward like bells. We grow many different varieties to provide an assortment of colors. The outside sepals are always white, red or pink. The inside corolla may be almost any color possible within range of white, blue violet, purple, pink, red, and shades approaching orange.

Hibiscus
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis The varieties we grow are the newer varieties. These new varieties tend to flower year round, are shorter than the standard, and the flowers last longer on the plant (1-2 days for a single flower and 2-3 days for a double flower). We grow double flowered and single flowered varieties with a multitude of different colors. We do apply growth regulators to give the plant a nice compact look, but the plant will always grow out of the regulation. Due to the fact that the flowers do not last very long we ship out the plants in bud stage, so you won't have to pull off any dead flowers when the plant arrives.

Kalanchoe
Kalanchoe blossfeldiana This is a flowering succulent with a long lasting decorative effect. Small flowers are borne on stems held above foliage in big clusters of color. Grown principally as house plants, the blooms can last four to five weeks, making them an attractive choice for dish gardens and centerpieces. In order to initiate and develop buds, the Kalanchoes needs 14 hour nights followed by 10 hours of bright light per day for a period of six weeks. There are a multitude of different flower colors ranging from whites, pinks, yellows, oranges, and reds and bi-colors.
